Rev. Nenad Mitrić and Wife Car Crash Novo Selo Death and Obituary: Forever In Our Hearts
A quiet stretch of road in Novo Selo turned tragic on April 2, when the lives of Rev. Nenad Mitrić, 33, and his wife, Nedeljka, 32, were suddenly and devastatingly cut short. The couple was killed after their car collided with a truck along the Brod–Derventa route in Bosnia, leaving behind a grieving community and three young children whose lives were forever changed.
At the time of the crash, the couple was traveling with their children. While Nenad and Nedeljka did not survive, their children were rescued from the wreckage घायल but alive. They were transported across borders for urgent medical care, receiving treatment in hospitals in Slavonski Brod and Zagreb. Doctors later confirmed that all three are in stable condition, offering a glimmer of hope amid profound sorrow.
Rev. Nenad Mitrić was widely known as a devoted servant of faith within the Serbian Orthodox Church. A steady and compassionate presence, he dedicated his life to ministry, guiding others with humility and care. His influence extended beyond Bosnia, reaching communities such as the Serbian Orthodox parish in Nashville, where he was deeply respected for his generosity and commitment.
His wife, Nedeljka—affectionately known as Neda—was equally beloved. Actively involved in church cultural life, particularly in folklore groups, she helped preserve cherished traditions while fostering a strong sense of community. Friends remember her as warm, kind, and deeply devoted to her family.
Together, they built a life grounded in faith, love, and service. Their sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew them.
In the wake of the tragedy, support has poured in from across the world. A fundraiser organized to assist their children has drawn widespread compassion, reflecting the deep impact the couple had on so many lives.
As their hometown of Liješće and communities abroad mourn, Nenad and Nedeljka Mitrić are remembered for their unwavering faith, their compassion for others, and the enduring legacy of love they leave behind.
