Ava Woodcock Shooting Glasgow, KY Death and Obituary: Forever Remembered
The Glasgow community is reeling from the devastating deaths of Ava Woodcock, 27, and her unborn child, following a tragic shooting on Monday afternoon. Woodcock, critically injured in the attack, was rushed to a Louisville hospital for emergency care but tragically succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities also confirmed the death of her unborn child shortly after the shooting.
According to the Glasgow Police Department, the incident unfolded when Woodcock pulled into the parking lot of Annie’s Restaurant on Cleveland Avenue and sounded her horn. Police say Brandon L. Bond, 24, then crossed Cleveland Avenue and opened fire while Woodcock was still inside her vehicle. Following the gunfire, her vehicle continued moving before crashing. Investigators have provided conflicting accounts of whether Woodcock remained in the vehicle or exited after being shot.
Bond fled the scene but was later found in a wooded area behind a nearby recycling company. He was arrested and initially charged with attempted murder (domestic violence) and attempted fetal homicide. However, those charges are expected to be upgraded in light of Woodcock’s death and the loss of her child.
Authorities reported that Bond had been drinking alcohol throughout the day and was described as “very uncooperative” after his arrest. He was restrained and housed separately overnight before eventually calming down. Bond is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday in Barren District Court.
Woodcock’s death has left her family, friends, and the entire Glasgow community devastated. Tributes pour in for a young mother whose life was taken far too soon, along with her unborn child. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
